Conductor Dominik Vogt

CANTABILE MIXED CHOIR

Conductor Dominik Lukas Vogt is the new conductor of Cantabile-kuoro since September 2017. Dominik Lukas Vogt, born in Balzers, Liechtenstein, got into contact with choral music as soprano in the boy's choir in Balzers. His devotion for choral music lead him to course a major in choral conducting and organ at the Lucerne School of Music, where he obtained a bachelor's degree. In 2013 he earned his master's diploma in choral conducting under the direction of Prof. Markus Utz at the ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste). At the same time he took a minor in orchestral conducting with Iwan Wassilevski. Further studies lead him to the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where he studied with Prof. Jörg-Peter Weigle.

Currently he is studying at the Sibelius Academy in the choral conducting class of Prof. Nils Schweckendiek and exploring the choral music scene of Finland. He will graduate from the Academy in May 2017. Several conducting courses abroad accompanied his education. He received musical guidance from Stefan Parkman, Johannes Prinz, Diego Fratelli, Marguerite Brooks, Paul Hillier, Andrew Parrott and Daniel Reuss among others. Apart from his passion for the choir music works by Josef Rheinberger, as well as new choir music from Liechtenstein, Dominik Lukas Vogt is an enthusiast of early and baroque music.
