CANTABILE MIXED CHOIR
Ruut Kiiski (born 1984) started her violin lessons at the Music Institute of Länsi-Uusimaa at the age of five. Violin soon changed to piano and as Ruut started to study at the Espoo Music Institute she was introduced to a cappella singing. She is a member of the vocal ensemble Acca Bella, which has trained with Uli Korhonen and Pasi Hyökki.
In 2003 Ruut Kiiski started her studies at the Department of Church Music at Sibelius Academy, from where she graduated in 2008 as Master of Music. She continues her studies majoring in choral conducting with professor Matti Hyökki as her instructor.
Kiiski has sung in EMO Ensemble, conducted by Pasi Hyökki, since its foundation.
Ruut Kiiski’s previous conducting experience includes work with Chamber Choir Dimus and female choir Elegia. At the moment Kiiski also conducts the Academic Choral Society of Helsinki University.
